Position: ITS & Sustainability Project Manager

The ITS & Sustainability Project Manager will assist the Director of Intelligent Transportation Systems in the management of the design and delivery of new ITS/Sustainability projects for the Central Florida Expressway Authority. The position responsibility also includes the management of design specifications and standards, support in identifying new and innovative technology applications for ITS/Sustainability, interagency coordination and presentation support.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process for new ITS and Sustainability Projects.
- Manage development and update for ITS and Sustainability design standards and specifications.
- Manage Design Consultants during the delivery of new ITS and Sustainability projects.
- Coordinate with General Engineering Consultant for ITS technical support.
- Oversee completion of voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis and arc flash analysis for ITS and Sustainability projects.
- Support and provide presentations for the ITS Department to the CFX Governing Board of Directors, other agency boards, Technical Committees and at professional conferences as needed.
- Support the continued development and execution of the incident management response plan.
- Assist in the planning and design to support ongoing technology life cycle replacements.
- Assist director in coordination of resolution of traffic operational issues with Regional Traffic Management Centers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- ITS Design experience required.
- Ability to read and follow detailed drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of ITS technology: CCTV video, vehicle detection systems, travel time data collection censors and ITS servers the system of dynamic message signs.
- Knowledge of Connected and Automated Vehicle technology
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn about ITS technology and stay up to date with the latest technology
- Ability to run SunGuide reports.
- Project Management
Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in engineering or computer science degree with 6-10 years of ITS experience or equivalent compatible years of experience.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Industry is preferred.
- High level of computer proficiency required.
- Registration as P.E. in Florida is preferred but not required.
