The ITS & Sustainability Project Manager will assist the Director of Intelligent Transportation Systems in the management of the design and delivery of new ITS/Sustainability projects for the Central Florida Expressway Authority.  The position responsibility also includes the management of design specifications and standards, support in identifying new and innovative technology applications for ITS/Sustainability, interagency coordination and presentation support.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process for new ITS and Sustainability Projects.
  • Manage development and update for ITS and Sustainability design standards and specifications.
  • Manage Design Consultants during the delivery of new ITS and Sustainability projects.
  • Coordinate with General Engineering Consultant for ITS technical support.
  • Oversee completion of voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis and arc flash analysis for ITS and Sustainability projects.
  • Support and provide presentations for the ITS Department to the CFX Governing Board of Directors, other agency boards, Technical Committees and at professional conferences as needed.
  • Support the continued development and execution of the incident management response plan.
  • Assist in the planning and design to support ongoing technology life cycle replacements.
  • Assist director in coordination of resolution of traffic operational issues with Regional Traffic Management Centers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • ITS Design experience required.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of ITS technology: CCTV video, vehicle detection systems, travel time data collection censors and ITS servers the system of dynamic message signs.
  • Knowledge of Connected and Automated Vehicle technology
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn about ITS technology and stay up to date with the latest technology
  • Ability to run SunGuide reports.
  • Project Management

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in engineering or computer science degree with 6-10 years of ITS experience or equivalent compatible years of experience.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Industry is preferred.
  • High level of computer proficiency required.
  • Registration as P.E. in Florida is preferred but not required.
