In late January 2020, the Central Florida Expressway Authority worked on the State Road 429/New Independence Parkway Interchange project. Improvements included widening the southbound State Road 429 ramp to New Independence Parkway and adding pedestrian and vehicle signals at both the northbound and southbound directions at the interchange.
Work was completed in May 2020.
