Whether intentional or not, failure to pay tolls is treated as a violation, subjecting a motorist to notifications demanding payment. The following Frequently Asked Questions will help you better understand CFX toll enforcement:

What happens when a driver fails to pay a toll?

A digital image of the vehicle’s license tag is recorded and an Unpaid Toll Notice (UTN) is mailed to the vehicle’s registered owner for payment of the unpaid toll(s), plus administrative fees. Under Florida Law, this image can be used by the CFX to issue a Uniform Traffic Citation (UTC).


What is an Unpaid Toll Notice (UTN)?

An Unpaid Toll Notice is an invoice for the failure to pay the prescribed toll(s).


What should I do if I receive an Unpaid Toll Notice (UTN)?

If you are an existing E-PASS customer, contact the E-PASS Service Center immediately to have the unpaid toll deducted from your prepaid account balance or make payment for the unpaid toll(s). If you do not have E-PASS, click PAY Your UTN/UTC to pay the unpaid toll on line with a credit card or call the Toll Enforcement Office at 407-690-5200.


What should I do if I receive a violation warning letter?

If you are an existing E-PASS customer, contact the E-PASS Service Center immediately at 407-823-7277. If you do not have E-PASS, call the Toll Enforcement Office at 407-690-5200.


What should I do if I receive a uniform traffic citation and I want to dispute it?

Within five days of receiving the citation you should contact the Toll Enforcement Department at 407-690-5200 or bring the UTC to an E-PASS Service Center located at:

What if I have I only have bills over $20 when paying a toll with cash?

Toll attendants do not have bill larger than $20 so you will be issued an Insufficient Fund Notice by the toll attendant. When you arrive at your location, you can mail a check or money order the Central Florida Expressway Authority, P.O Box 585070, Orlando, FL 32858-5070. Please include the license plate number and state issued.
