Designated Texter
The Central Florida Expressway Authority’s Designated Texter (DT) campaign is dedicated to educating the Central Florida community on distracted driving issues.
The ongoing safety campaign is a part of CFX’s commitment to the safety of its customers. Thousands of people are killed each year in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers, and hundreds of thousands are injured. DT is a solution-focused public service campaign that asks drivers to hand their phone to a passenger and designate a texter.
The Nap Ford Community School became a partner in the DT movement in April 2015, when fifth grades pledged to serve as a DT for their parents while in the car. Groups of students wrote and recorded original Designated Texter PSAs. DT spokesman and NBA basketball player Tobias Harris recognized the winners and their spots.
