Statement
The Central Florida Expressway Authority places a high priority on the efficient, effective, and economical management of its public records to ensure that information is available when and where it is needed, in an organized, and efficient manner.
Public record requests received to this agency will be processed in accordance with the Florida Public Records Law. We will advise requestors as soon as possible regarding the status of his/her request.
What is a public record?
Public records means all documents, papers, letters, maps, books, tapes, photographs, films, sound recordings, data processing software, or other material, regardless of the physical form, characteristics, or means of transmission, made or received pursuant to law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of official business by any agency. (119.011(12), F.S.)

All public record requests received shall be acknowledged promptly and responded to in good faith by the Custodian of Public Records. Record requests should be clear enough to enable our team to conduct a meaningful search. Please know we may respond with questions if more information or clarification is needed. Our public records are available for inspection and or copying at any reasonable time, under reasonable conditions, and under the supervision by the Custodian of Public Records.
What are the fees associated with submitting a public record request?
- If a fee is not prescribed by law, the following fees are authorized for the duplication of public records;
- Up to $0.15 per one-sided copy for duplicated copies of not more than 14 inches by 8½ inches
- No more than an additional $0.05 for each two-sided copy
- Up to $1.00 per copy for a certified copy of a public record
- For all other copies, the actual cost of duplication of the public record
If the nature or volume of public records requested to be inspected or copied is such to require an extensive use of information technology resources or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance by personnel of the agency involved, or both, the agency may charge, in addition to the actual cost of duplication, a special service charge, which shall be reasonable and shall be based on the cost incurred for such extensive use of information technology resources or the labor cost of the personnel providing the service that is actually incurred by the agency or attributable to the agency for the clerical and supervisory assistance required or both. (119.07(4)(d), F.S.)
CFX may impose a special service charge to the requestor when the total time to satisfy the request exceeds 30 minutes.
No charges will be assessed against the requestor if the cost of production equates to less than $30.00.
