A lifelong resident of Lake County, Commissioner Welton Cadwell has represented Lake County District 5 since 1992. He was appointed to the Central Florida Expressway Authority on June 24, 2014.

Commissioner Cadwell is focused on increasing Lake County’s employment base and continues to work to raise local income levels by supporting the county’s active role in fostering industry and economic development. He is dedicated to improving and maintaining green areas and active parks, and was instrumental in helping the county secure a public-private partnership deal to build the state’s largest sand-beach volleyball complex in Tavares.

His efforts often reach beyond the borders of Lake County, as Commissioner Cadwell also serves on several regional, statewide and national boards and committees.

He and his wife, Barbara, have four children and five grandchildren.
