  In summer of 2023, the Central Florida Expressway Authority began adding state-of-the-art technology to accommodate Flex Lanes on its system.  The first Flex Lanes will open on State Road 417 and State Road 429, as part of the capacity improvement projects on those roadways. 

Start date: October 2023 Expected Completion date: Winter 2024

This project consists of removing and replacing three new 3-line DMS signs and sign structures along SR 417 and SR 528.

In May 2017, the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) will begin field testing a new, state-of-the-art toll collection system at the State Road 414 (John Land Apopka Expressway) Coral Hills Main Plaza. The new system is designed to replace much of CFX’s existing toll collection
