More than two dozen small businesses, including members of the disadvantaged business enterprise program, attended a meet and greet event at the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. The event provided an opportunity for contractors and subcontractors to network with each other and learn more about CFX.
Attendees heard presentations about the agency’s background, procurement process, upcoming construction projects and small and diverse business programs available through CFX. A major goal of the meeting was to gather feedback from businesses on how CFX can provide better resources about opportunities with the agency.
“For firms like Ardmore that are new to CFX, this event provided insight into preparation of proposals as well as access to key CFX staff to introduce our firm. Very worthwhile and I appreciated this networking opportunity,” said Weston Parker with Ardmore Associates.
“The meeting gave me the opportunity to meet new primes and subcontractors, learn about upcoming opportunities and chat with the executive director and other CFX officials. CFX’s commitment to small and diverse businesses was obvious. I look forward to attending future events,” said another attendee, Tomeka Bell with Validity Solutions.
CFX plans to schedule another meet and greet event in the fall.
