(ORLANDO, FL) At a workshop this week, the Central Florida Expressway Authority kicked off its 2040 Master Plan process, which will help shape the agency’s vision for the future of transportation in the region.
As part of the process, the CFX Board will develop a mission and vision in line with the authorizing legislation that includes Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, along with the City of Orlando and the ability to consider other modes of transportation. Additionally, the plan will identify areas of Central Florida in need of additional transportation options.
Previous master plans helped identify projects that are complete or under construction, such as Wekiva Parkway, the Interstate-4/State Road 408 interchange and improvements to the State Road 408/State Road 417 interchange.
The planning process is expected to be complete in early 2016.
