(ORLANDO, FL) Corey Quinn, P.E., has been named the Central Florida Expressway Authority’s Chief of Technology/Operations. In his new role, Mr. Quinn will be responsible for leading his team in developing new customer-focused initiatives that will revolutionize the way CFX interacts with those who drive on the expressway system.
Prior to taking on this new role, Mr. Quinn was CFX’s Director of Expressway Operations managing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Road Rangers and CFX’s contract with the Florida Highway Patrol to provide dedicated patrols on the expressway system, a role which he assumed in 2012. During his time with the agency, Mr. Quinn launched the successful implementation of CFX’s innovative Wrong Way Driving Detection Pilot Program. He also represents CFX on MetroPlan Orlando’s Transportation Systems Management & Operations Advisory Committee, serving as vice-chair.
With more than 16 years experience in the transportation and technology industry, he is active in the Florida ITS community. Mr. Quinn has also overseen a number of technology and toll operations projects for departments of transportation in a number of states as well as for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. He played key roles in numerous “First in Florida ITS deployments, including the iFlorida project with the Florida Department of Transportation District 5 and the first deployment of color Dynamic Message Signs with the City of Orlando’s Downtown ITS deployment.”
Mr. Quinn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Florida State University as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. He is a certified professional engineer with the State of Florida.
