The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) invites you to a Virtual Pre-Construction Community Meeting for the SR 417 Corridor Widening Projects: Segment 5 Narcoossee Road to SR 528.
The virtual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2020, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To participate, please pre-register by 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 7 by visiting https://bit.ly/SR417VPMOCT2020. This 4.7-mile project will include widening SR 417 by one lane in each direction for a total of six travel lanes. The project will also relocate the ramp plaza on the southbound SR 417 ramp to Narcoossee Road. Wider median shoulders will be added that can temporarily accommodate additional traffic during emergency response events, such as traffic accidents or hurricane evacuations. The virtual meeting will allow the public to view project information, including maps and graphics, ask questions and submit comments.
CFX conducted a noise analysis and identified four locations where a sound wall would be a viable measure to reduce traffic noise. CFX is now trying to determine the level of support from nearby property owners for the construction of these sound walls. The proposed sound wall concepts will be shown in the virtual meeting. Public comments will be accepted until Friday, October 16, 2020 for the public record.
