Poinciana Parkway Widening Project Recognized as 2024 Design-Build Project of the Year

CFX’s SR 538 Poinciana Parkway Widening was recognized by The Florida Region Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) as the 2024 Design-Build Project of the Year in the transportation structures category. DBIA honors exceptional regional design-build projects that reflect industry excellence.

The $96.6M project widened the existing SR 538 Poinciana Parkway from a two-lane undivided expressway to a four-lane divided expressway for seven miles from Ronald Reagan Parkway to CR 580 (Cypress Parkway) vastly improving connectivity to and from the Poinciana community in Osceola County. Part of the project included a more than one-mile bridge structure designed to minimize environmental impacts over a mitigation bank and allow for the safe passage of wildlife. The project also included more than two miles of noise walls, drainage, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), all-electronic tolling (AET), and utility upgrades.

The project was delivered by the design-build team of The Lane Construction Corporation and DRMP.
