Seminole County Tax Collector’s Office Implements CFX Initiative, Offering Easier Process for Resolving Tag Holds Due to Unpaid Tolls

Using a new customer service initiative launched by the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), Seminole County’s Tax Collector’s Office can now offer residents a one-stop process for resolving tag-registration holds related to unpaid toll notices.

Beginning today, Seminole County vehicle owners can pay delinquent Pay By Plate invoices while renewing tags or driver’s licenses at Seminole County Tax Collector locations. Previously, motorists informed of registration or license holds while at a tax collector site were redirected to CFX for settling unpaid tolls and securing releases on holds. After doing so, motorists could return to a tax office to complete their renewals.

“Throughout my time as tax collector, I’ve focused on improving the service we provide our customers,” said Joel Greenberg, Seminole County Tax Collector. “We’ve embraced technology, revamped our offices, increased the methods of payment and instituted new procedures for our customers when they need our services. This CFX initiative is just another way to better serve the citizens of Seminole County.”

CFX first implemented its simplified resolution process in partnership with the Orange County Tax Collector’s Office in February, saving customers time and lessening their frustrations with lifting holds on tags and licenses due to unpaid tolls.
