Brandon Arrington was elected to the Osceola County Commission in 2008, to represent District 3. Commissioner Arrington also currently is representing the Commission on the Public Safety Coordinating Council, Florida Association of Counties Board, CareerSource Central Florida, Kissimmee Chamber of Commerce, Policy Leader of the Health, Human Services & Public Safety Committee, and was appointed as Vice-Chair of the Florida Association of Counties’ Health and Human Services Committee Board, and serves on both the Florida Counties Foundation Board and as a Policy Leader of the Health & Safety Policy Committee. Brandon also serves on the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council Board of Directors, and was recently appointed to the Regional Board of Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), which is also the CFX Representative on the MetroPlan Orlando Board.
Past duties have included serving as the Chairman of the Board in 2011, 2015 and 2017. He also served other leadership roles regionally, including Chairman of MetroPlan Orlando, Vice Chairman of Lynx, Chairman of the SunRail board, Central Florida Commission on Homelessness and Chairman of Workforce Central Florida and the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board. Brandon is a Kissimmee native and a graduate of Osceola High School, where he met his wife Kristen. The commissioner is also a graduate of Auburn University, “War Eagle!”
Brandon also serves as the Executive Director of Osceola Arts – our community’s local art agency – where he is proud to champion the arts and work to provide cultural outlets to our diverse community through programs such as the field trip program, Murals program, Arts-Afterschool Program, and our Audience of Tomorrow program.
He is a past member of the Poinciana Rotary Club and a past mentor for Take Stock in Children. He also served as the past chair for Alzheimer’s Walk in Kissimmee and helped fund-raise for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Relay for Life, Boy Scouts, and the YMCA. He is a proud participant in Read Across America, an annual reading motivation and awareness program for children.
Personal improvement and growth are very important to Brandon, and his other personal education and enrichment endeavors include: Leadership Osceola, the Central Florida Political Leadership Institute, Certified County Commissioner training, Advanced County Commissioner training and MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organizations) training.
Outside of serving his community, Brandon is an animal lover (currently has 2 dogs and 1 cat) and he enjoys spending his time outdoors. He appreciates all of the amenities that our community has to offer; from our world-famous bass fishing lakes and pristine parks, to our beautiful, manicured golf courses.
