Mr. Christopher “C.J.” Maier was first appointed to the CFX Board on May 7, 2021 by Governor Ron DeSantis and subsequently reappointed on February 7, 2023. Mr. Maier is the Senior Vice President, Implementation at Cielo Digital Infrastructure. Mr. Maier has worked in the greater infrastructure industry since 1999, including the various sectors of wireless, fiber optics, transportation, water, and renewable energy. His background includes site acquisition, land use entitlements, contracting, project management, implementation, operations, local, state, and federal government affairs, and strategy development. Mr. Maier has previously held senior leadership positions of national scope at Verizon Wireless, Crown Castle, Zayo, and NextEra Energy, the parent company of Florida Power & Light.
Mr. Maier is an active member of the Central Florida community having served on the Orlando Economic Partnership Board of Directors, the Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council, Leadership Florida, MetroPlan Orlando’s Community Advisory Committee, Project Lead the Way for Orange County schools, First United Methodist Church of Orlando Finance Committee, and as President of the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business Alumni Board of Directors.
Mr. Maier earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in International Affairs and has a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College. A native of Central Florida, Maier and his wife Jennifer live in Orlando with their two sons.
