State Road 538 (Poinciana Parkway) Extension to County Road 532

In June 2020, CFX began design on the Poinciana Parkway Extension. The project will be broken into two segments and is expected to improve traffic flow and operation in the area.

Segment 1 – Ronald Reagan Parkway to south of US 17/92

Project Type: Design

This 1.9-mile project segment includes the design of the new four-lane expressway from Ronald Reagan Parkway to south of US 17/92. Design also includes an interchange with US 27 and realignment of US 27 to accommodate the interchange while avoiding impacts to Lake Louisa State Park.

Design start: June 2020
Anticipated design completion: Late 2021

Segment 2 – South of US 17/92 to County Road 532

Project Type: Design

This 1.2-mile project segment includes the design of the new four-lane expressway from US 17/92 to CR 532. Design also includes an interchange at US 17/92, tolled ramps at CR 532, and bridges over the CSX railroad, Old Tampa Highway, and US 17/92.

Design start: July 2020
Anticipated design completion: Late 2021

In partnership with Osceola County, CFX is designing the widening of CR 532 from US 17-92 to Old Lake Wilson Road. This will improve access from the Poinciana Parkway extension to I-4.

About Public Involvement

Public involvement and interagency coordination will be an integral part of the design process, and opportunities for public participation will be provided. CFX anticipates holding a virtual public meeting as part of this project.
