State Road 538
Poinciana Parkway Extension
Project Overview
The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) is extending State Road 538/Poinciana Parkway from Ronald Reagan Parkway to County Road 532 (Osceola Polk Line Road). This 3.1-mile extension is being constructed in two segments that support the long-term vision reflected in the CFX 2045 Master Plan.
Segment 1, from Ronald Reagan Parkway to south of US 17/92, and Segment 2, from south of US 17/92 to County Road 532, are part of a regional network of planned future expressways designated the Southern Beltway that includes the Poinciana Parkway Extension, the Southport Connector Expressway, the Northeast Connector Expressway, and SR 534. Together, these corridors would form a more than 50-mile beltway in the southern region of Central Florida and are expected to improve traffic flow and operations for residents and visitors alike.
This project includes building an interchange at US 17/92, tolled ramps at CR 532, and nearly a half mile of bridging over wetlands within the Reedy Creek Mitigation Bank. Bridges over the CSX railroad, Old Tampa Highway, and US 17/92 will also be constructed.
