CFX Names Diego Rodriguez As General Counsel

The Central Florida Expressway Authority today announced it has named Diego “Woody” Rodriguez as general counsel with responsibilities for the toll road agency’s legal affairs. Rodriguez’s position with CFX will commence on October 1, 2019.

As general counsel, Rodriguez will serve as an adviser to CFX’s Governing Board and executive staff, while also overseeing in-house and outside legal teams. Rodriguez currently serves in the same capacity with the Orange County School Board (2010-2019) and served in a similar role with the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office (2000-2005). He has extensive experience in legal matters involving land use, construction and finance and is Board Certified in City, County and Local Government Law.

“Woody has an impeccable reputation as a general counsel,” said Executive Director Laura Kelley. “We are fortunate to have found someone with his experience and local knowledge to guide our legal department as we strive to meet Central Florida’s transportation needs.”

Said Rodriguez: “I’m honored to join CFX and look forward to working with its staff and the Board. With my prior experience in eminent domain, I look forward to helping the organization keep its land acquisition costs down and I’m excited to join an organization that plays such an integral part in the growth of our Central Florida community.”

Rodriguez earned a law degree at Florida State University, where he also received a Bachelor of Arts in English.
