Several small businesses owners and representatives, including members of the minority and disadvantaged business enterprise program, attended a meet and greet event at the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. The event provided an opportunity for contractors and subcontractors to network with each other and learn more about CFX.
Attendees heard presentations about the agency’s background, procurement process, technology and operations department projects and small and diverse business programs available through CFX. A major goal of the meeting was to gather feedback from businesses on how CFX can provide better resources about opportunities with the agency.
“Of the many small business outreach events I have attended, I give this event high marks,” said Courtney Powell of Ace Applications, LLC. “It was targeted, and provided practical information on projects, contracts and how to do business with the agency. I especially appreciated that the reps from CFX stayed afterwards to address direct questions from the small businesses. Great event!”
CFX plans to schedule another meet and greet event in April, 2017.
