Orlando, Florida (February 13, 2025) – Christopher “C.J.” Maier has been unanimously elected chairman of the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) governing board by his fellow board members on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Maier has served as a CFX governing board member since his appointment by Governor Ron DeSantis in May 2021.
At Thursday’s board meeting, the board also unanimously elected Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer as vice chairman and Seminole County District 5 Commissioner Andria Herr as treasurer. Mayor Dyer has served as a CFX board member since its creation in 2014 and as the Mayor of the City of Orlando has a permanent seat on the board.
Brevard County District 1 Commissioner Katie Delaney also joined the CFX governing board, representing the residents of Brevard County.
Commissioner Delaney received the appointment to the CFX governing board from Brevard County Commission Chair Rob Feltner in January 2025.
She assumes the seat previously held by Brevard County District 2 Commissioner Tom Goodson, who served on the CFX governing board from December 2022 to January 2025.
The CFX governing board has seven local elected officials, representing the counties of Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole, the City of Orlando, three governor appointees, and the executive director of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise as a non-voting advisory member. It oversees the agency’s policies and provides direction over its 125-mile user-funded regional transportation network.
