The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) was recently recognized and received five awards for excellence in financial reporting, project design and construction, and landscaping.
The awards include:
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting – For the fifteenth year in a row, CFX received the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). CFX received accolades for its ability “to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read its 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.”
2020 Best in Construction Award – The Florida Transportation Builders Association’s selected the SR408 / 417 interchange as this year’s award-winning project. To greatly improve traffic flow, the project added a flyover ramp and created additional lanes at this critical interchange.
2019 Award of Excellence for a Landscape Installation/Renovation Government/Public Project – Awarded by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association, this top-tier award recognizes landscape excellence in Florida.
2019 Environmental Stewardship Award – Awarded by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association for the State Roads 429 and 414 Interchange Landscape Improvements based on the project’s effective use of ecologically sustainable practices including the use of native plants.
2019 Environmental Stewardship Award – Awarded by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association for the State Road 408 Raised Median Planter Repair and Renovation.
